South Newport Community Notice: Lobby Break-In and Stolen Packages

South Newport Residents,

We want to make you aware that there was a break-in in the lobby this morning, and several packages were stolen. The lobby door has been repaired.

We understand how frustrating and unsettling this is, especially when it involves personal deliveries. While we have taken this seriously and addressed the immediate issue, we also need everyone’s help to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.

Please take the following steps to protect your deliveries:

• Pick up packages as soon as they are delivered. The longer a package sits in a common area, the more opportunity there is for theft.

• Add delivery instructions whenever possible (for example: “Deliver to my door” or “Do not leave in lobby”).

  
  

Important reminder: Packages left in common areas are delivered at the owner’s risk. South Newport HOA is not responsible for stolen or missing items.
